Gestalt Therapy to Heal the Mind and Body

My mission is to provide a safe and supportive space to enable healing and decrease suffering. While I welcome clients age 18 and up, I mostly see young adults in their 20's and early 30's who are experiencing anxiety, stress, or depression.

 

My therapy style draws from a Gestalt perspective, which means I use somatic principles to focus on what's coming up for you in the present moment.  Together, we will become aware of body sensations and explore feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. Young adults generally find a footing through my warm and direct application of the Gestalt model.

I incorporate elements of mindfulness into my practice to help you uncover the thought patterns keeping you stuck. I also bring in other evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

My approach is holistic and collaborative—that is, I believe the relationship of trust between a therapist and client makes their work together successful. I combine my training and experience with a belief that you are the expert at your own life. Instead of asking you to change, I will work with you to create a more authentic, aware, self-loving version of yourself.

As a Gestalt Therapist, I can help you:

  • Become more aware,

  • Discover your behavior patterns and begin to make positive changes, and

  • Build more meaningful relationships.
